Preferably the intermediate heating is carried out by immersion in molten metal; and the final hardening treatment is at 270-320‹F for 2 to 30 hours.

Method for heat treatment of aluminum-based alloys containing
4-8% zinc, 1.5-3.5% magnesium, 1-2.5% copper and at least one metal from the group containing 0.05-0.3% chromium, Ο, ΙτΟ, 5% manganese and 0.05-0.3% zirconium, including quenching and artificial hardening in that, in order to increase corrosion resistance and strength, artificial aging is carried out at 80-163 ° C for 2-30 hours at the first stage, at 182-260 ° C for 0.2150 min in the second stage and at 80 160 ° C for 2-30 hours in the third stage.
